Patrick Robinson is the Project Director for the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve and from 2006 to 2010 he worked on the designation and establishment of the Reserve. Patrick is also the Associate Dean for the Cooperative Extension Department of Agriculture & Natural Resources. Prior to his current role, Patrick served as the interim State Program Director for the Community, Natural Resource and Economic Development Program. In addition, he served for five years as the Co-Director and Environmental Studies Specialist for the UW Environmental Resources Center, which is a center jointly administered by the University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Wisconsin-Extension. Patrick has worked on water and land resource issues in the Great Lakes Region for the past 20 years while in a variety of roles related to research, education, and management. Patrick earned his doctorate degree in Environment and Resources from University of Wisconsin-Madison and has a Master of Science degree from University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. He also served as a Division Manager in a private consulting firm and worked for a brief time in state government.
