Special Projects Coordinator
As the Special Projects Coordinator, Hilarie is working with partners to support and develop several Reserve initiatives including the coordination of the Reserve Site Profile, the St. Louis River Summit and an on the water training and education program for local and regional decision makers. Hilarie is originally from Chicago and moved to Duluth in 2001. She received a Bachelors in International Studies and Spanish from University of Minnesota Duluth in 2009, and a Masters in Environmental Studies: northern environmental and cultures from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario in 2013. Hilarie recently completed a Masters in Marine Biology from University of Oregon where her research focused on population dynamics and variability of jellyfish related to local and regional environmental variables in the Pacific Northwest. Hilarie has a professional background in climate change extension education with Minnesota Sea Grant where she worked from 2013 until 2016. Hilarie enjoys getting out on the water as much as possible and hiking with her dog Yeti.
